Strolling around a railway station is a great way to “people watch.” We spent about an hour at the Kandy Railway Station. As I walked around the platforms I was able to connect with various people who were waiting to board trains. Here are some of the images.

As I walked along the platform a group of young boys seemed to be enthralled with me and my camera. When I asked if they wanted their photo taken and their mom seemed to approve, I began to take photos. Then they each wanted to have a photo of them and wanted to see it on the back of my camera. They were great subjects and fun to interact with.

I used to think that a woman wearing a burka would not want to be photographed but I now realize that is not always the case. This woman was delighted to be photographed.

I think that my interactions with people waiting for trains also helped them to pass the time and have some fun.

I noted that the Sri Lankans tend to have beautiful long hair.

Then there were some people with whom I was not interacting but just observing as they waited for trains.

A good recycling idea…
