We observed the growing, picking, processing, and selling of tea in Sri Lanka.

This beautiful woman explained the whole tea lifecycle to us.

Note the baskets the pickers carry. There is a strap over the top of the head with the basket hanging from it.

Only the top few leaves are picked because that is what yields the best tea.

We visited the processing factory

There is a shop next to the processing factory where tea is sold in various types of packaging.

After leaving the tea plantation and factory, we saw the following women walking on the road on their way to pick tea. They were eager to show us how they do it. And they were the most friendly and happy tea pickers around. What a treat.

This lovely young girl approached us with and offered us flowers.

Here is a beautiful scene – a misty tea plantation
