Birqash Camel Market is filled with hundreds if not thousands of camels and many camel traders making deals buying and selling. The people are friendly, colorful, and happy to talk and pose for photos. However there is obvious mistreatment of many camels by several men and boys so I concentrated on photographing calm and interesting people.

This young girl in the image below was sitting at a tiny table with her parents having lunch set out on a single large tray from which they all ate. When I asked if I could photograph her, she smiled and her dad said “yes of course.” The mom then invited me to sit with them and eat some food. I respectfully declined but was truly touched at the gesture.
