Ruins and Ancient sites in Turkey

Turkey is the crossroads between East and West and therefore has seen many civilizations over many years. Here are some ancient sites that I visited.

This is Göbekli Tepe dating back almost 12,000 years. Note the interesting covering over the ruins.

Nemrut is next. It is a long trek up the mountain but once there it is magical.

Ani – We spent a lot of time walking and climbing around Ani and viewing the fascinating ruins. It was actually a spiritual and calming experience roaming around, up and down, and all around this large area. Note the sign in the first image. It is metal with the letters cut out. This sort of signage impressed me and is very appropriate for the location.
