Jewish history dates back 2000 years. The number of Jews in Morocco was at its highest in about 1948 with over 270,00 inhabitants. Many Jews emigrated to Israel and the Americas. Today there are approximately 2100 Jews in all of Morocco coexisting peacefully with the people of Morocco.

There are several historic sites and Jewish quarters in Morocco as well as Jewish jewelry, household items, and other structures and items with Jewish connections. The blue city of Chefchaouen owes its color to the Jews who settled there and painted their homes blue to bring good luck.
