Driving down a country road in Eastern Turkey close to the Syrian border, we spotted 20 or 25 people in the field picking cotton. We stopped and ran to photograph this activity. As we approached, the families, mostly women and kids ran to us and were really eager to engage. They were all smiles and wanted selfies with us. One kid was wearing a Bronx, NY sweatshirt and one of the guys in our group is from the Bronx. What a special meeting that was.
