These white horses of the Camargue used to roam the marshes and wetlands and have adapted to that environment. The ones we “met” are no longer wild and have been trained to follow voice commands. We as photographers were dressed in waders and wore mosquito netted hats and face coverings as we walked in and stood in the water to capture the best images. The horse tenders and trainers are called guardians. They truly love the animals and that love is evident in all their actions.
