Seldom do I post images of the “accommodations” and groups with which I travel. However, Angola was such a unique experience that I going to share those sorts of images here.
In this photo below you can see our camp in the background. After visiting the village where these girls live, they followed us back to our camp to see how we live.
These were some abandoned tanks left near a village. When we approached the tanks these kids seemed to come out of nowhere. It was a fun experience.
Stefan, our in country tour master, was reviewing images from another tribe as these kids looked on. It is probably their only opportunity to see how other tribes in Angola live.

Mealtime setup in our camps
Camp was set up in about 7 locations. Here is one of them.

Villagers were often shy and quiet as we first entered their community. But, as time went by and we all tried to communicate, various things happened like here when this woman began to provide some musical beats and the kids began to dance. Eventually Stephen tried the drums too.
Early mornings at our camps – fire, coffee, conversation
Those are our “beds” packed up and ready to be transported to the next camp. And of course there is Stephen flying his drone.

Yes, people love seeing themselves on the screen on the back of our cameras
