The Day of the Dead is a huge celebration in Oaxaca.

Preparations are made for weeks prior to the October 31, November 1, and November 2 dates.

This is done with flowers and colored sand. It adorns the courtyard of a hotel / restaurant.

Even the artwork depicts this special event.

This is called an Ofrenda – a collection of objects placed on a ritual display during the annual and traditionally Mexican Día de Muertos celebration.

Even this country restaurant prepared for the Day of the Dead with this display.

There is even Day of the Dead bread made especially for the days the souls come back. The bread is place at the grave sites.
