The African Elephant with its African shaped ears is large and appears gentle as it moves through the fields of Masai Mara.

Notice how families members move together often protecting the babies.

It is fascinating to see two elephants sparring.

When I first saw the short tusk on this guy I asked the guide if it was broken. He explained that just as people are right or left handed, elephants are right or left tusked. So this guy is left tusked and therefore uses his left tusk more for digging and scraping. So, the tusk has been worn down.

See the young elephant being protected by the parents.
